A) It appears that it does not crash if I don't have an external display attached.


B) It appears that if I totally disable the screensaver I don't experience crashes. It's not much use in this scenario anyway.

So in case anyone wants to try to replicate this, connect an external display (or second display on a desktop?) and leave the screensaver active. Mine was set for random modules which may explain the unpredictable crash interval. The crashes always happened with fullscreen XDarwin in the background. I tried turning off Xinerama in XDarwin but that caused all sorts of weirdness with my external display attached.
