Lo, on Wednesday, June 16, Gary K Olson did write:
Since I upgraded to OSX 10.34, I cannot use emacs. I get the following error when I try to load emacs (version emacs-xaw3d_21.3.50_20031224-12) which is latest in the unstable tree:
connection lost to XServer '0:0.0'
That looks like an odd X server specifier. First, are you running X at all? If so, what's $DISPLAY set to in the shell where you start emacs?
I am running apple's X11. My .bashrc exports DISPLAY 0.0, so when I check this from an xterm I get back 0.0 for the shell. I don't know if the extra zero in the error message has any significance. I checked my .emacs file, but nothing has changed for over a month. I am stumped. Any more ideas?
