Well, I seem to have the same problem (or rather, a bigger problem with the same cause, the broken package manager). However, the command suggested in the website, i.e.

fink install fink-0.21.2-1

does not work. What I get is: "Failed. No matching version found for fink."

I tried, as suggested, to go to sourceforge and download

fink-0.22.1.tar.gz

but there is no such package there. I can see (in decreasing order) fink-0.22.2, fink-0.21.3, and fink-0.21.2,

Which one will get the job done?

Thanks!

What version of the fink package do you have?
computer:/sw/etc username$ fink -V
Package manager version: 0.22.0

That version is broken and doesn't update correctly... There are directions for fixing it in the "News" section at http://fink.sourceforge.net/

Excuse me while I smack myself in the head for not seeing that on the website <smack!>

*sigh*

I posted the question more as a musing of "huh...that's odd...I could have sworn that was the same number of packages I had last time I updated...and the time before that...". I should have looked at the site first.

Thanks!
