Stupid question...

I was thinking of trying to set up some kind of blog on a 10.3.5 system. I heard Blojsam might be a good one to use, so I looked into some info on it.

It looks like it needs Tomcat in order to run.

Fink has Tomcat4, and I wondered:
a) is Tomcat a standalone server that runs in *conjunction*/addition to Apache? (i.e., start Tomcat, and you can always connect to <ipaddress>:8080 to get to the blog, or is this something that integrates with Apache as some kind of module?)
b) Will it play nicely with Apple's default installation of Apache, or do I need to start mixing and matching with a Fink version of Apache?

I'd like to install Tomcat from fink, run blojsam under that, and have a web page from the personal web server (default Apple apache) that points to the local system on port 8080; if I correctly understood how things work, this should be all that needs to be done, no? I'm very inexperienced at using Tomcat, unfortunately :-) Any advice, pointers, experiences, etc.?

Thanks,
-Bart
