Hmm, that explains a curious inconsistency. When the announcement for X11 1.1.2 appeared on VersionTracker, I downloaded it from there to try it out later on my 10.4 testbench. This file was 47MB in size. However, later visiting the Apple support pages, I came across the X11 Update 2006 item, and that .dmg file was announced as 51MB in size. Guess my suspicions were confirmed. Best wait till a clear picture of what's Apple up to comes in focus before commiting our known working X11 setups. Thanks, J.
