What fink distribution are you using? grep -i distribution /sw/etc/fink.conf should return "Distribution: 10.4". If you get "Distribution: 10.4-transitional" instead then you're still using the obsolete 10.4-transitional tree and need to follow the instructions on the finkproject.org homepage at the bottom beginning with 2006-07-24: Reminder: "10.4-transitional" Tree Unsupported on August 1st, 2006.
The steps I took were to download the latest FinkCommander, run selfupdate, and then update-all.
The distribution is "Distribution: 10.4-transitional".Ideally there should be something in FinkCommander to warn about the upgrade issue, as without a clear error message, there is no clue that some special procedure is required.
