Gimp.app sticks all of its dependent libraries in the application
bundle, so it should be safe.

What's going on here is likely that you compiled _something_ at some
point while you had freetype stuff in /usr/local, and that's now being
referenced.

I posted a command in that thread to hunt down "contaminated"
packages.
