it appears to actually be an issue with libiconv depending on what
system you've built it on; we're investigating a fix right now.

However, if you're not getting the latest stuff, you have other issues
with your fink installation.  You may want try a "fink
selfupdate-rsync" and make sure you get the right stuff.  If you don't
end up with fink 0.28.0 you either don't have unstable enabled (which
is where qt4-x11 is at in the first place) or are not getting the
right stuff for some reason.
