You didn't yet tell us even which was your "cp" command, which acording to Martin's msg above in the thread looks quite suspicious, (besides not answering any questions on your own bug-tracker item...) _ i.e. : `which cp` dpkg -S `which cp` and if relevant, the corresponding output of "fink list -t" ... Also, pls in the future, a bug-tracker item is useless if of the form "I did it this way, and it presumably works for me" .. Pls tell first what you are trying to fix _ including your system and fink data if relevant _ ; i.e., in case of a build error, the specific command line that failed and subsequent error msgs, then, if you have, your analysis of the causes of the problem, and only then, if you have, your list of proposed solutions, possibly with their advantages and disadvantages, and discussion as to what systems they might be more appropriate for and which ones less. The latter items are optional, but get as as far as possible into the list, and anything that follows a skipped item in this list is basically useless.. And at least, when you file bug-reports, reply to questions !
