hello,
i installed fink yesterday in my computer at work but i seem to be unable to
properly configure proxy settings here (Macmini with Leopard 10.5.8).
the ProxyHTTP line is right in fink.conf (added via fink configure) but i
still can't install anything:
Could not connect to bindist.finkmirrors.net:80 (17.254.20.227). - connect
(60 Operation timed out)
Passive FTP is also on, as suggested in fink website.
i noticed that i cannot even ping (it hangs, though i'm not sure if this is
useful information) with my mac box, even though i do it without problems in
my linux box with the same proxy settings.
http browsing works fine.
any ideas what am i missing?
