Hello,
You might try the following - create a file called:
/sw/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/myproxy with the following content:
Acquire {
http::Proxy "<proxy-server-info>";
}
That helped me out from behind our proxy.
Figuring out why it's not pinging is probably first though...
