i never made it work actually. i worked around the problem for a while
connecting to the internet with a 3g modem whenever i needed to install or
update fink, but as i don't have the 3g service anymore i better fix things
once and for all ... :-\
using tcsh, yes.
fink --version
Package manager version: 0.27.13
Distribution version: 0.9.0 i386
