We have also received a report from Jean Orloff that
dvips exits abnormally in x86_64 env. See also:

(if \usepackage[T1]{fontenc}) is comment-outed, it works)

Currently we don't still have any remedy for this issue.
If pdflatex or dvipdfmx can make a normal pdf file,
please use it instead of dvips.

If you find a way to fix it, please let us know.
