I agree, and thank you for the suggestion. I do not have any other fonts installed as far as I can remember (I had TeTeX on the machine and the TeXLive; no other package installed by hand as far as I temember), but I will check as soon as I can. What bugs me is that the previous version of TeXLive (0.20080816-3) works without a hitch and without any missing font on exactly the documents I am struggling now to typeset. The moment I downgrade to that version everything is back to normal. Could any leftover from the old TeXLive happen (and cause problems)? If so how can I figure it out?
