Hi
I think you are taking my comment too personally...
not being a coder (and semi retired because of an illness/disability), I find
it hard to deal with coding challenges...
That being said mtpfs is not bad as a first attempt from a developer, and it
was implemented in MacPorts...
I tested it, for the first time it recognises the Android device and I can
browse the folders of Internal, SD Card and Playlist...
only snag, you can only see, not be able to copy, paste, create etc...
I wonder what the guys at MacSync did to make it stick... I offered them US$20
instead of the advertised price of US$40, they initially refused, but then said
if I am willing to write a report on my experience, they will offer it at the
price I asked for...
The only reason I wished to use usb for transfers is that it is faster with the
Android, and I like to stay on the Mac (on Linux, I managed to build this on my
own, well using the available resources)...
Anyway sorry if I came through as being arrogant... a lot of people are making
money on the back of open source still :( ...
Have a good life...

Subject: Re: [Fink-users] kde and amarok in mac got on my nerves!
To each there own. Some of us like to work together to keep things no-cost and
working. Note I did not say free; Alexander and many others are putting their
time in, and we all benefit. And we contribute by helping debug problems so
the maintainers have an easier job, and other users a better experience.
You made a hash of your install (MacPorts/Xquartz/fink is a toxic mix). I
understand if you would rather pay for software and support, instead of working
through the problem to everyone's benefit. That is ok. Send an e-mail that
says "you guys suck because this software should be free and just work without
me having to do anything", that is not ok.
Me - out.

PS makes you wonder why paid for software is better than open source free
one... the former almost always works straight out of the box...
