Hmmm great idea! I actually wrote a filemaker script that imports all the
files in a folder into the filemaker file, but that is just as good - better
actually, because filemaker doesn't recognise the ".session" extension as a
text file. I was working on an applescript that would copy all the files
and rename them, but this cat statement is a much better solution!
However... while we're on this... can anyone tell me how to:
"cd application support"
that line doesn't work - the space between "application" and "support" cause
the terminal to respond with:
cd: too many arguments.
Of course, that's always been a unix thing - spaces separate the arguments,
so a file name with a space is going to really mess things up.
I can get around it by renaming the application support folder removing the
space, but that's not ideal, especially since the application support folder
is a special one required in the system.
I'm wondering if Apple thought of this when they allowed spaces in the file
names of a unix based operating system - especially when some of the file
names are set by them - and provided us with a way around it?
any ideas anyone?
Cheers,
David.
