There is a more fundamental problem with the practice of disabling one right (RKBA) legislatively on the basis of another right having been disabled (e.g. liberty) by judicial due process, but without the disablement of that first right being sought by judicial petition or decided by verdict or disabled by court order. I discuss this in my law review article "Public Safety or Bills of Attainder?" — Written Jun. 14, 2000. Published in University of West Los Angeles Law Review, Vol. 34, 2002, and republished in Vol. 35, 2003. http://www.constitution.org/col/psrboa.htm
