As Jon stated, there is clear evidence that lead exposure in childhood has numerous results, including personality changes and lower IQ. Studies of violent criminals have shown higher total lead levels then the general population. Whether or not this is related to lead being removed from gasoline is going to be more difficult to prove. Other area in our society had lead concentrations removed at the same time - paints, toys, etc.

This is similar to the old argument that crime decreased because of legalized abortions, awful hard to prove one contributed to the other.
