My only problem with all of this is that the data that have generally been used for 
the period from '74 to '84 are, in order: 38.3, 33.1, 26.9, 28.0, 28.2, 27.4, 31.5, 
35.1, 30.7, 29.1, 28.1. I'm not sure whether the difference is due to different 
homicide numbers or population guesstimates. Interestingly, our figures for 1980, a 
census year, differ by about 1/100,000.
