Why a prototype? FIB+, IBX, UIB, IBObject - all of them are "wrappers around handlers", all of them are easy to use (they match design of DB-aware part of VCL/FCL) and all of them are mature, tested by years products with enormous userbase. Are you seriously going to drop all this into trash can?.. In IBPhoenix Replicator I made thin OO wrappers around ISC API, OCI and ODBC for both C++ and Delphi. All these interfaces are handle-based if you don't know. All the wrappers are made in style you refused to look at. All of them are fast and robust. -- WBR, SD. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Firebird-Devel mailing list, web interface at https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/firebird-devel
