Thanks. My current (1436) installation was installed using the downloaded Windows executable installer - recommended for first-time users (which I was back then).

I have downloaded Firebird-4.0.0.1817_x64.zip but I am not sure how to deploy it. Do I just copy it over the 1436 installation (except for conf files)?

I see it contains a new folder "tzdata" which I presume holds resources required for WITH TIME ZONE types.

But, I also notice there is no WOW64 folder (which I presume contains libraries for 32-bit applications to use). I need this because I use IBExpert, which I believe is a 32-bit application.

Will the 1436 32-bit client library will be compatible with 1817? If not, where do I get the 1817 32-bit stuff from?

I realise that this is now drifting away from the original topic - should it be a new one?
