Yep that's a common problem. I ripped the first one out and then paid double
for the "softer" factory style seal and had the same issue to a lesser degree.
Every couple of months I re-adjust the latch - the seal is compressing v e r y
s l o w l y.

I put my trunk on and spent some time getting it lined up. Then, I put
the seal in and couldn't even close the trunk...
