Don't waste your time with the OER trunk lid seal. I had that same exact seal and the same exact problems and it NEVER resolved itself for 3+ months, so I finally gave up on it. Don't buy the $80 latex one either. Call Ames or anyone else who sells Soft Seal brand and get the trunk lid seal from them. It should run about $35 if I remember correctly, and fit nice, and it's supple, and the lid closed perfectly the first time. I installed the OER Brand from CI. The latex replacement (original style) sold be CI is actually $80 instead of $16. Doesn't sound worth it. I think I'll just keep readjusting the latch until it gets there. No hurry since the car won't be assembled and ready to roll until summer....if I'm lucky. I ripped the first one out and then paid double for the "softer" factory style seal and had the same issue to a lesser degree.
