First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... I know I mentioned the same exact thing about the OER door seals a few days back. Go buy a SoftSeal brand, and just be done with it. For the amount of money and time you are putting into this, don't hassle with those OER seals.

My main concern is rust protection. Thanks for the tip on industrial supply house. I'll have to see what we have in the area. BTW, I installed the OER door seals last night. My doors will not shut, the little black ribbed push-fasteners all broke since they are a little too large and the ribs have zero flexibility (I ended up using small interior screws with thin washers), and they are a little loose coming around the front corners. Very dissapointing! Also, the OER door bumbers (two on each side top and bottom) keep falling off. I'm batting zero for 4 with the OER kit (3. trunk seal and 4. trunk bumbers are problematic as well)! Not the best solution but will last for a while. I've tried using Eastwoods' zinc plating kit on some stuff but I'm not convinced that it's going to hold up long term (have to wait and see with that) but it, of course, has a silver color which may not be what you want.> Lee/69 Firebird conv. > > Any suggestions on what to coat nuts and bolts with after you have sandblasted or wire wheeled off the original plating? I was wondering if I could just get away with coating them in lithium grease to keep them from rusting. I bought the Totally Stainless body and engine kits but there are still a lot of others that are not in the kit.> > Thanks,> Sheen> _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger!
