I guess the question would be how long is the long one and how short is the short one. Including threads,end to end this one is 2.5 inches. According to my 67 parts manual it should be part# 3729000,same for both OHC-6 and V-8.

The ball did not fit but about half way into the Z-bar tube. Now, it has been many years since I dealt with this but the correct one fit much farther into the tube. My initial fear was that engine torque under hard acceleration (showing off)would be enough to make the tube come off of the shorter stud.
