As an FYI, I went with Eibach "Small Block Chevy" springs in my ride. I
figured my Pontiac V8 (with no a/c, aluminum intake, headers) would weigh
the same as a fully dressed SBC with air, iron intake, and iron manifolds.

Well like everyone says, you need to check the bolts and make sure the
springs are in the pockets... and that the "pig tail" is located in the
correct position.
I second detroit eaton spring! They are great guys to deal with.
I would also look through a good parts store Moog catalog, you can
probably
find the springs in there!
