KJ,

I had my original bumpers plated by TriCity Plating (http:// www.tricityplating.com/) and they did a terrific job (back side not finished, but fine). Their prices were good, even considering UPS shipping (but, like my previous example with the Hurst shifter chroming, it was a while ago!). If you decide not to rechrome your convertible header moldings I would love to buy them. Mine had big rust holes. (I am serious about buying them--I'm up in Sherman).

I just took my bumpers and convertible windshield headers down to a chrome plater in Ft. Worth to get a price comparison between that and reproductions. I was thinking if it was anywhere close I would of course stick with the originals. They quoted me $700 for the bumpers (the rear needs a little straightening) and $150 for the headers. A quick check of the catalogs confirmed that this is WAY more than repo's.

Are they nuts, or am I? Is it worth shopping around at today's fuel prices, or should I just settle for repo's?

Kj
