So I've got a question regarding this last post. I used a thin piece of tin
cut to size to block mine. It solved the problem of the high temperatures
burning the paint on my intake manifold. But I don't understand the comment
below about separating the center exhaust ports from each other. Is this
something I should be concerned about?

I filled mine with molten aluminum. Used an old piston, melted it and poured
it in. You use tin foil and sos pad to keep the aluminum from filling into
the exhaust port. This can't be done on the car. A lot of guys will tell you
to just use a block plate but this does nothing for separating the center
exhuast ports from each other.
