Frayed shmayed! I drove for 6 years or so with bailing wire holding mine on till I just now replaced it! I was with a group of birds from the Bay Area back when and I stomped it at a light and broke ferrule that attaches to the carb so I wired it up with bailing wire (my Model T experience comes in great) and I just never fixed it till now since I replaced the intake (with a nice polished Edelbrock one) and cleaned up the engine so I could not leave that unsightly (perfectly functional) cable in there.

Thanks Nicklas! Good news for me, that's the way I have it set up now. Although, I need to buy a new one since mine is frayed ;(

Thanks,
