First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... I have had a mixed bag.
My 400 viton seal is great, but the one on my 428 build would not install correctly. Yes I followed the instructions to the T. it would lock up my crank... So I went with the rope and it does not leak at all. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of hugot Sent: Wednesday, July 09, 2008 2:16 AM To: First Generation Firebird-L Subject: Re: [FGF] rear main seal? First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... I've had very good luck with the Vitton seals from BOP Engineering. I've replaced a few on engines that were leaking but did not do a rebuild or anything and had very good luck with them. I've only heard of one person having problems and it was mostly because he seemed to have a lot of crank case pressure and had to work around it by installing an external vacuum pump.
