I'm not very knowledgeable on GTO's, but it just seems strange that Pontiac offered essentially the same car, one with a post and one without. I haven't seen a post car next to the non-post, but I looked at some photos and they look very similar to me. As an update I'm getting ready to pull the engine, and send the engine and the car off for rebuilding/restoration. I'm sure I'll have some Firebird related questions in the near future.
