IMO, the best way to lift an engine is one of those plates that bolts to the intake at the carb mounting bolts. It seems like most cherry pickers just don't quite go high enough when using one of those levelers. Of course, if your using a hoist that's hanging from an overhead beam, then that doesn't matter.
