I sure wouldn't lift an engine that way.  I've stripped those holes  just 
attaching the carb.  Use the intake to head holes.

Can  I interrupt this thread with a stupid question?

How is it that those  four tiny little bolts threaded into an aluminum intake 
can support the entire  weight of an engine?  Can you use one with the 
transmission  attached?
