I had the same problem with my passenger door. The way I got it open was to
roll the window down and use a coat hanger or some stiff piece of wire.
Bend about a 1/4 inch "L" hook on one end. Using the window opening at the
top, use a flashlight and start fishing for the lock tab and the tab for the
push button on the latch. It may take a while but sooner or later you will
find the right part to pull up and get the door unlocked. If you have the
door panel off, you may be able to reach it better from the opening on the
back edge of the door.

Good luck,
Ed

Subject: [FGF] Fwd: 67 door latch

First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List
.........................................................................
Hi,

I need some help with the driver side door latch of my recently acquired 67
Firebird.? I can't get the door to open.? Both the outside and inside
handles work fine and connected to the latch.? I removed the door panel to
see if I can gain access to the latch but no luck.? It appears that
something inside the latch assembly broke and won't release the latch.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
