.........................................................................

OK, good news and bad news. The good... I got all the inner springs out and
locks back on without dropping a valve into the cylinder. I brought the pistons
up to TDC and worked two sets at a time. The bad...I lost one lock. I thought
it dropped outside of the engine, hit the subframe, slid down a bit and clinked
on a couple frame parts before coming to rest with a metal to metal light
"clunk". I had my eye on the spring compressor and other lock that was still on
the stem. After I got the second one off, the search began. An hour later, no
lock. I looked high and low. Even ran the magnet wand in the subframe. No luck.
I didn't actually see it drop, so now I'm wondering if it fell in the engine.
Thinking about it, it would have been about the same sound falling down the
valley, clinking on the cam and crank before falling on the windage tray with a
light "clunk". I'll give it another look tomorrow but if I can't find it I
think I may be pulling the motor....again ;( Maybe I ca
n get a magnet wand down to the windage tray and get lucky??? Disheartening to
say the least.
