Unless you're going to drag race it and run it at WOT for 12 seconds or so, I would say no, but, if your engine is so highly modified, why not go with an electric fuel pump and a pressure regulator? A hidden switch is a good way to keep the car from going too far if someone tries to steal it.

Do I need a high volume fuel pump for my 455? If so, how much gph? It has fully ported/polished heads with large valves, 850 Holley double pumper, approx. .50" lift cam, Doug's headers, RPM manifold. Are you suppose to figure this out by trial and error? I've seen some formulas that ask you to assume a hp rating and calculate. Anyone experience fuel starvation problems with a similar engine set up and stock fuel pump?

Thanks,
Sheen
