Self-etching primer is for bare metal only! I wouldn't use it on your hood. The old paint needs to be sanded/roughed up before painting if you want anything to stick to it. I find ScotchBrite pads work well for doing the underside of a hood. As for the POR 15, I haven't used it myself, but I believe it must be top-coated before it completely cures. Lee - 69 vert.
