I agree with hugo, make the slab thick enough  for a lift and make the ceiling
tall enough for the lift to be usable at full height.

You could put an insulated closet off the back to contain the air compressor.
The compressor is annoying to have running inside the work space because of the
noise.

Your plans don't have any interior columns.  Be sure to keep it that way.  My
garage is 26 x 36 without any interior columns.  It cost me extra for the steel
but it was money well spent.

You need much more natural lighting than those plans show.  If security isn't
an issue put lots of windows or even skylights.

You could change the trusses to room trusses to gain overhead storage.

Plan storage cabinets, space for tool cabinets and space for work benches.  The
rule of thumb is everything that doesn't have a space ends up on the floor.

Anyone have a recommendation for a good way to build a workshop? I found a
couple of plan and spec websites that seem pretty reasonable, e.g.
http://www.garageplansplus.com/workshopgarageplans/270brickwithhip.htm

Any tips? Oh, and yes this is FGF related, i.e. my next build, if and when I
get around to it, would happen in the workshop.

Thanks,

Sheen
