I agree, I have a 69 Firebird Convertible, red with black top and interior...get lots of looks from modern sports car owners... My opinion is that "most cars" lost their appeal to me in the 70s....in the 80`s 90`s they all became "Camrys" to me...if anyone has a Camry ,don't take it personally, it is just that it's a very popular model, and most others look the same...you nowadays have to look at the badge to see what it is...I remember growing up in the 50`s ,when we used to have contests to "name the oncoming car"...and you could tell if it was a Studebaker, a Hudson , a Ford od Chevy , Olds or Pontiac , Mercedes, Volvo or Tatra, Renault or Peugeaut, VW etc...with the exceptions of Retro looking cars today , most look the same....mostly because they use the same wind tunnel design...they have lost the identifying looks...and many people want to buy something ,nice, good looking , something that make you stand out...not a Prius. my son has this dilemma now...he is about to sell his Tahoe (now when he has to pay for gas himself! lol) and he isn't sure what to get...he needs a four seater, prob a four door , possibly two door...with space for luggage...whats there to choose from , in what looks good...he wants a car that is good looking... in US cars I like the Eldorado, (now discontinued) the older STS, the new CTS, that's about it....I like the Volvo look (drive a C70, wont be good for my son ,no luggage space), S60, I like the new VW, personally I don't like any SUVs...and I hate to have them in front of me on the road (well, actually , I dislike to have ANY car ahead of me...LOL)... There ARE cars that are distinctive looking, Porsche ,Maseratis, Lambos, Astons, Rolls, but not the "normal" cars... Styling got lost in the 60s. I have a 69 Firebird Convertible, red w/ white convertible top. Even the Carrera drivers crane their necks to look over. What happened? The country lost the free spirit and pannash of the 1960s and become conservative including auto styling.
