Your o-ring comment gives me an idea....I'm thinking perhaps I can just put some silicone glue on my cable housing and glue it in place. Not a whole bunch but enough to hold in in place but not so much I can't yank it off if I ever need to. Or perhaps velcro ! I love that stuff!

I don't remember how my TH400 was set up but seem to recall I simply unscrewed the speedo from the tranny. You've got me curious since my Tremec has a speedo adaptor that is "held in place" by an o-ring, i.e. pops in place and can be pulled out with minimal effort. I question whether or not it will pop out at high speed. There is no retaining clip or lock down mechanism. Seems like there should be.
