Sure.

You would have to do a lot of bleeding...

Gravity bleed the system...

Open the bleeders over night with the master cylinder cap off and let it
drain.

Then put in the fresh stuff and do it again...and may be again

If you choose to use silicone...bring your visa card !!!

Most older cars will have the dot 3. it has a distinct smell. It smells
like brake fluid... ! HA!!! Sorry,,,, 

Seriously.... the reason I chose silicone is the easy clean up and it
will not harm paint, unlike the regular stuff..

Dot 5 (silicone)has a purple color to it
Dot 3 is yellowish.

I would doubt that your car has silicone...most people won't spend the
extra cash and not all parts stores carry it for just that reason..

What would you suggest if you have a vehicle that your not sure what the
previous owner had been putting in it?  Could you drain a system and
then
start with something else?
