Thanks for all the input and education regarding our brake systems. It's
amazing how such a "simple" question can lead to so much discussion and
education.

I finished my front brake job Saturday afternoon. In the past week I've got
new tires, a fresh alignment, new front brakes and a tranny service. New
tires and alignment = one of life's simple pleasures. The car rides great
again!

Regarding the brake job, I eventually had to crack open the bleed valves at
each wheel in order to get the pistons compressed. The leakage at the
master cylinder was indeed fluid overflow from the reservoir, so next time I
will definitely go with the turkey baster technique. Made a mess but at
least I didn't blow out any seals/valves.

Thanks again for the input. Scott
