First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List
.........................................................................

Joe, JA wheels were only used on A bodies, never on Firebird. I have a 68
Firebird that was originally equipped with power discs and it had two of it's
original JC wheels when I got the car. I've also owned a very low mileage 68
GTO that had all five of it's original JAs. I'm pretty sure the 68 shop manual
shows JCs for the Firebird (with disc brakes), but I don't have my copy in
front of me. I'll check it out tonight and send it to you if I can find it.

Okay,

This question has been asked a number of times, but I have yet to draw a
final conclusion, so I'm going to see if anyone can offer definitive evidence
as  to the correct rally II wheel for a 68 firebird 400 with disc brakes.
I  have a set of JAs and a set of JCs.  I need to get my redlines mounted
and  I want to use the correct set of wheels.   Every time I see answers on
this, they refer to other sites that show the wheel listings.  Well,  I've
seen several sites and literature that contradict each other.  So, the  only
way I believe this can be confirmed is if someone on this list has a  car
with the original set of rally wheels on it that came with disc  brakes.

It seems pretty rare to find a vehicle that has the original wheels and
came with disc brakes.  So, if anyone of you can positively verify  this.  I
would really like to hear from you.

Thanks a bunch

Old Joe
