First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List
.........................................................................
Jim,

Thanks for the info, but this does not clear up the situation. Some
documentation says that JC wheels were on both the disc and drum cars for 68.
Some says JA wheels were used on disc brake cars. That's why the only way I
will know for sure is if someone has an actual factory equipped disc brake
car with the factory wheels. Again, thanks for trying.

I've got a '68 convertible with power drum brakes, and it has JC wheels
all the way around. I thought the JCs were for drums; all the info shows other
wheels for disc brake models. I think that was also the issue with the
American torq thrust wheels. The torq thrust D was for disc brake cars; the
regular torq thrust was for the drum models.

68 Firebird that was originally equipped with power discs and it had two of
it's original JC wheels when I got the car. I've also owned a very low
mileage 68 GTO that had all five of it's original JAs. I'm pretty sure the 68
shop manual shows JCs for the Firebird (with disc brakes), but I don't have
my copy in front of
