Hey Brett,

Great minds think alike. I plan to get a second trunk lid and add a
spoiler to it as well. My first 68 bird had one and I really liked the looks
of
it on there, but alas I'm going for originality on this one. I plan to
have the 2nd lid and another set of wheels for regular driving fun and swap
them around when I want to stress originality.

I think the bottom line is to build your car the way you

would have ordered it or the way you really want it to

be built and how you want it to look.

The main issue I see with the rear spoiler is it's a bit more

involved to add one (drilling the mounting holes, sealing

the emblem holes in the lid, color matching the spoiler,

mounting the emblems if you choose etc) than it is to add

the front spoiler which you don't have to paint...

Luckily for me the last owner added both spoilers (but must

have damaged the front as it was missing, just found the

hardware in the trunk) so it was an easy choice for me. I

would have wanted to add one to "see" if I liked it, but may

not have done so if it were up to me to add it on considering

matching the paint and all. But I may add the front again at

some point to see if I like it or not, for myself.

IF, or when I repaint, I've already planned on doing two deck

lids and maybe two hoods. (T/A style hood possibly in addition

to the 400) But that day is a long way off...

Great topic though.

Brett!
