HI All....
As previously mentioned, I do have the original master cylinder for the car. I
am not going to rebuild that one, but intend to keep it. That being said, ran
into a snag today. Purchased a master cylinder for the car that looked exactly
like the original style for my car with original front disc brakes. Looked the
same except didn't have the bleeder screws. It was the style with the 2 hold
down clips. Went to bench bleed it and noticed that the plunger had a hole
that did not match up to mine at all. No way would my pushrod even come close
to coming to the end of it. The cavity was approx 1-1/2" deep. My original
one, and the one I took off had a hole of maybe 1/2" deep. So now I am
perplexed. The booster in the car is the original delco one. Can a person get
a longer pushrod? Do they just pull out (never looked) as I tried to race back
to parts store before they closed. They are ordering me in one that they
figure is the right one. Has someone found a correct style someplace (from
their local parts store)? And if so, what was the make and part number? Is
there a different length pushrod?
thx
