Hi Wayne...we were both thinking grounding but didn't get that far. Which side is the ground on...staring at the front of the car...pass or driver? I am being lazy and dont want to take the rad filler panels off both sides to find it...lol. sad, i know. Maybe the garage gremlins fixed it last nite!

Definitely a ground issue.  I had the same issue with my 69.  Check the
grounds that go to the radiator support off of the front headlight wiring
harness.  One of mine was bad and I had almost the same conditions as you.
