Sorry to hear that Daniel? Remember, not all Synthetics are created equal.
I've had nothing but good luck Especially switching over with older engines.
Gave my old truck new life when I switched it over. A quality Synthetic will
protect any of the wear parts even if the oiling system fails (i.e. if your
wife never checks the oil and fails to mention it)

There is a lot of quality info out there on this subject in particular. I'd
have to say it was a bad set of circumstances...

Personally, I feel Amsoil, Royal Purple, Red Line are the top 3... after that
I really don't know enough about any others to comment...

I hope you've had good luck since with what ever you are using now!

Brett!

Subject: Re: [FGF] type of oil

Been thinking of just swapping over to rotella in my older ones. I have
tried swapping from standard oil to synthetic on two of my cars in the past
and BOTH of them whiped out a lobe on the camshaft. Will NOT try it again.
On a new motor after break in fine but not a old motor. Maybe it was a
fluke but two in a row? Daniel Ray
