I am going to have a quick chime in here...I run Rotella T 15-40 in all my
vintage vehicles. Reason is just the personal research I have done.
Rotella , up until they changed the formula slightly, had the highest zinc
rating without question. Now, in order to get the same zinc levels in their
new formula, a person has to use the racing oils that are in the market
today. I also add a bottle of GM oil additive which puts the zinc levels
back to where the old Rotella T formula used to be. In short...older
engines needed the zinc, so just be aware of the levels in whatever oil u
buy. I am not an oil expert, it is just the combo I feel comfortable with.
With our cars (summer driven only) the biggest thing is just change the
freaking oil. Run whatever makes u feel good because it is the cheapest
form of maintanence to do and plus as we know it just feels damn good
afterwards...lol. There are a tonnnnnnnnne of forums on this discussion all
over the net and everyone has their own favorite.

Brett, both times I had swapped to mobile 1. On my turbo buick [ which
was one of them that whiped the cam ] I rebuilt the motor but went with a
roller cam in it now and I run royle purple in it. Regular oil for the
first 500 miles to set the rings then swapped to royle and have had no
problems whatsoever. Daniel Ray
