First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List ......................................................................... I recall someone said they put springs from a different car inside the OEM springs. I think it was springs from a volvo, but I'm not sure now. This gave a bit more support to balance the weight of the hood. I would try that before removing the original springs. It could take a while to get all the settings correct on aftermarket springs that bring the hood back into correct alighment.
